A Very Jedi Christmas...
Like most people, the Jedi celebrate
different holidays throughout the year. For the Astoria Jedi, many of us
celebrate the spirit of Christmas. From baking traditional "Wampa
Sugar Cookies", to kissing under the "Yslamir Branch", it is not
much different to the Christmas that most folk are familiar with. Some of
the steps for preparing for a Jedi Christmas:
1.)
Ask Yoda how to Decorate.
Yoda is undoubtedly one of the best
holiday designers in the Core Galaxy. He has an uncanny ability to place
the icicles on the tree in just the right place, and as far as color
coordinating the bulbs, only a prissy protocol droid could do better.
|
2.) Decorate the Tree.
After Yoda has decided on the plan of
attack, it is time to put the bulbs on the tree. Here, you can see Jedi
Duck carefully moving one of the red bulbs over to an open branch. You
must be careful, as most break easily. (you wouldn't want to cut your
hand...)
|
3.)
Search the Force for Gift
Ideas.
Having trouble with finding that special
gift this year? That is one problem the Jedi never have. By
stretching out through the force, the Jedi often find that perfect gift for
their friends by reading their emotions. Sometimes though, a person's
deepest desires reflects a gift that might not be...appropriate...for Christmas.
|
3.)
Light the Tree.
Finally, once the decorating has been
complete, the Jedi sit back to enjoy a job well done. While some prefer to
use a lightsaber to ignite the Christmas lights, the Astoria Jedi have always preferred
the use of a sturdy blaster at their side.

These are just a few of the customs that
the Jedi of Astoria enjoy on the holidays. Some, such as Jedi 2-Shoes
celebrate Hanukkah, complete with the "mini-lightsaber Menorah".
Still others, such as many Wookies, celebrate "Life-Day" as seen in
the Star Wars Holiday Special, complete with Lumpy and Bea Arthur.
