Well, I flew down to Florida to see my sweetie, Jedi Gimp. She had been out on tour with a children's show since Septiembre, and so, a visit was long overdue. After having Jedi Bowie drop me off at the air-o-porto, I flew south where I was met and picked up by Miss E.
After dropping things at the Days Inn, we went on a Water Taxi to see the sights of Ft. Lauderdale. Known as the "Venice of North America", these canals were home to some of the most expensive homes and Yachts known to man. The amount of money found on those waters was frightening to think of. We stopped for lunch at Dan Marino's Town Tavern where Erin had a Quesadilla, and I had some meatloaf. After checking out a park by the water and getting some desert, we waited for the water taxi, saw the sunset, and rode back to the car--where we took A1A (BEACH FRONT AVENUE!) back to the hotel.
Erin had a show the next day, and afterwards, she made the children happy by signing autographs in her fantastic polka-dot dress. We celebrated Gimp's birthday by driving down to South Beach for dinner, drinks, and dancing. A few hours later, Gimp (now a year older) stumbled back to the car with the assistance of Jedi Kluv. After attempting to take off her boots and telling every parking meter how much she loved them (plus a small detour through the ghetto of Miami), everyone was returned safely before sunrise.
The next morning, Erin felt the effects of her carousing from the night before, but was refreshed and excited by the prospect of Brunch. We went to the Airport to wait for my plane. After drinking a terrible smoothie and trying to entertain ourselves for two hours, my plane was delayed. Finally, another two hours later, I was in the air watching "Chicken Run", flying over Philly, on my way to Astoria. Twas' a wonderful weekend.
