Are you strudeling me? (10/31/01)

Haaaaapy Hallows-eve, folks! No kids happened to come around to our door this year & yell at us to open up and give them things, so I can't tell if that's due to fear of terrorism or fear of evil Ella waiting on the other side of the door. I updated the Mystery Link to the right w/ a site detailing the truth behind the "don't go to the Mall on Halloween" emails...

Updated the Events page with all the treats so many of you have planned thru November. We've got goods from BA, Blisset, Clarkbar, Punk Rock, & straight out of our lovely Massachusettttts Offices--The lovely Ms. Sertzie! Be sure to stop by and check out the various shows (some free!) to supports yo' mafia bretheren.

Speaking of support, went to see J2S' show on Sunday and was striken down with a vile digestive-system-rotting-disease...which caused me to "expose" some of our friends to the unlovely by-products of intestinal-disfortitude. Little did I know that the little excapade that caused Steve to shake the whole row w/ laughter was only a precursor to a debilitating illness that would keep me up for the next few days. Ugh. But I had a fun time that night at the show & @ the Fat Black Pussycat. Word up to all the folks we met along the way.

Some reminders for y'all:

PARTY @ OUR PAD this Saturday. Details have been floating on the messageboard and on our evite (if you haven't recieved one, email me and I'll send one out to you). Starts @ 8. Bring your booze. We'll have snacks and candy. And costumes are required. No costume = Humiliation for you & donning of a 'Hat of Shame'. You are warned.

Monsters INC. & EP II TEASER this Friday. We're hitting the late show (post 11pm) to be sure everyone can attend. Drop us a line and we'll get nicely toasted beforehand. Perhaps a little Uno action.

THE SOJURN TO ITHACA is set for the weekend of Nov. 10th. If you're in, you must let Frantley know via the messageboard NOW. We must arrange transports to take us to the land of ice and snow (and little red chips for free beer).

I think that's about all. I'm psyched about Harry Potter and am re-reading the series this week in preparation. Already on IV. Also, for some pretty fall wallpaper, go to Digital Blasphemy (I picked some up today). Also, Nice job (as per usual) to the Ed & WWing crew. Noticed last week that Virtual Stuckeyville has greatly updated their layout. You even have a personal mailbox over there now... Also, ESPN.com has been having a fun-as-hell contest where you can win various ESPN personality bobblehead dolls by searching for them through the site on different days. Today featured the BOO!(yah!) Bobblehead, Stew Scott. Very fun and funny.

Last: Big ups to the Celtics who are 1-1, and almost came back from a terrible opening quarter tonight against JASON KIDD's Nets. Duck just may be right in that his Nets seem really good this year. We shall see. I just enjoyed Paul Pierce's 36 points tonight once he turned it on. PACE!

Margaret Cho's Lap Dance (10/28/01)

Just a quick bop on the site here. Spent friday traipsing around the city on Ron & Fez' Halloweeen NYC Bar Crawl. I went as a Red Sox Fan in NYC and Duck went as My Yankees counterpart. We managed to scare some folks, but with Bob & J2S in tow, I think we had a pretty good time. Check out the new Mystery Pic for some shots of the eve.

Also, last night Bobo and I initiated the new Pizzaria Uno into Astoria. With over 20+ beers and Newcastle on Tap ($4.75 for a nice large pilsner glass), I have a feeling we'll be back hanging at The Uno for many days to come...

Stumblin' thru the barrio… (10/25/01)

Found this in Daily Variety this morning. Read On:

'HoMoErotic' IS BACK IN A BIG WAY
-by Steve Lucas

The industry is abuzz with news that HoMoErotic Pictures has completed it's first film of Fall 2001. 'Titter', a film that follows the discovery, rise and fall of a pop sensation, was filmed at HME's primary Astoria, NY Soundstage on Saturday evening. Starring GiMp as the young star, the film also boasts strong performances by HME regulars, Duck & Frantley. Also of note is the HME debut of longtime fan, Spermy Reed; and a supporting role by Kluv, during which he attempts to keep himself from laughing (a problem that has plagued him throughout his career). Test audiences have reacted positively to Titter, calling the film "entertaining", "thought-provoking", and "terribly uncomfortable". HoMoErotic Exectutives are banking that the "…What the Hell?!?" ending will give them the street buzz that helped fuel such pics as 'Memento' & 'The Usual Suspects'.

To cash in on the possible success of 'Titter', HME Pictures is putting together a compilation of their complete cannon in the coming months. Attempting to restore those films that still have master copies, Producers have pooled their archives to create a tape of all the HoMoErotic films, and the ventures of their sister company: Bridge & Tunnel Productions. The rumored film 'hits and misses' may include:

Roommates
Primitive Men
Goat Song
Toilet Zone
Faxe Briggery, or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying And Love My Cousin
Art House
Three Boys From Boonton
Whorephanage
Original Gimp
Hoboween
the Silent Bark (B&T Prod.)
O-Ring
Titter

Also, there is a good chance that extras such as the unfinished picture "The Truth About Cats & Dogs Two!" and footage from "Arms Wide Shut" may be included as bonus material.

Lastly, it seems that there may be another HME picture in the works. The new film is rumored to be a 'Buddy Cop' picture (a genre that HME hasn't tackled yet), to be filmed and set in Astoria or Manhattan. Word is that Bobo Barth is working on the story & planning to star in the cop role w/ HME regular Kluv--and they are hoping to actually film in daylight (something that hasn't worked well for HME pictures in the past.)

Nice write-up, no? Hopefully we can back it up w/ some punch. Not much else new, just a nice ep of Ed last night. Hope y'all caught site of Bunk in the principal's office. That, and I seem to be smitten with the looks of Windows XP. (Yes, Darth Gates has lured me with the saturation of ads and info on the web today). It's pretty and sounds like a nice upgrade of the OS. Unfortunately, I fear that I may have a bit too much *ahem* orrowed-bay oftware-say *ahem* on my computron to make it worthwhile. But a boy can dream, can't he?

Got to speak w/ JedIrish on his great tour across the USA. Everything is going well, and he sends his love back our way in the Cit-ay. He says that everyone on tour doesn't hate each other yet, but I bet if you give them another week or two... Anywho, he is able to drop in and check the site from time to time, so let him know how it goes.

Before I go, I wanted to let anyone know that Duck is currently looking for a light board operator for a show coming up in November. There is mention of the details on the Messageboard, so be sure to pop on over or drop me a line if you're interested.

Sssssseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyaaaaaaaahhhhhh.

Song Yet To Be Sung (10/24/01)

The wacky work hours I've been perpetrating lately have obviously impeeded my ability to update regularly---so I again send out a call to arms for any and all Mafioso who wish to contribute an update.  Send it to my white ass at your leisure, and I'll get it up on the net.  Simple plan.  Just be sure to write a return address on it, or I'll have to use a wrap a towel around my face (as per Mothra's suggestion to GiMp).

Last weeks happenings were quite fun.  After the bliss of the Jane's Show, we attended the verybest Grundy show I've seen to date--at what is fast becoming my favorite NYC club, Elbow Room.  It has nice decor, nice atmosphere, etc, and a nice stage setup.  After a rokken opening set by Zipthunk!, the boys of uncool tore the roof off the mother for myself, J2S, Frants, Mamity, Diesel, Porter, and our Gal Amanda 'Foldger'.  Hopefully they'll be returning to the club in the future, so keep your eyes and ears peeled for more info.

Ed & West Wing tonight as per usual.  Be sure and check out 'a very dramatic Ed' according to the NBC promos.  The season has been sweet thus far...in other media news--the Episode II teaser is rumored to be attatched to 'Monsters Inc.', to be followed by a net teaser and a more-regular preview w/ Harry Potter.  All movies I will be enjoying, you can bet.

Looking for some fun on Hallows Eve?  GiMp & Myself are hosting a post-halloween bash (since It's on a Wednesday).  So come out to Queens on Saturday for some beer swilling and snack eating (you bring the beer, we bring the snacks).  BE SURE TO HAVE A COSTUME.  We want so see some costumes people, or we may not let you in.  As Rounders would say, don't be a pussy.  We don't like pussies.  Ooooh? OOoooooH!!!!!  Email me @ kevin@ithacamafia.com for more details.

Ummmmmm, the Bills won last week.  That was nice.

If you're a comic fan, it seems that Marvel has come out w/ a "Heroes" comic book w/ proceeds going to the Twin Towers Fund.  I saw two images from it, and they're pretty sweet.  Kevin Smith & Quesada  or  David Mack.  Plus, if you're looking for the new Image GI Joe Comic #1, don't bother.  They sold out of TWO printings all over NY.  #2 is scheduled to hit on October 31st, so move fast soldiers.  You can see more about it all @ www.GIJoeComic.com.

Still smells pretty bad down @ work. New mystery link.

Ol' Jedi Leon has a website of his very own, and it's a magical land filled with gumdrop forests & tons of info about him. Be sure to drop by and say 'hi' and see what he's up to. I'll drop a banner of his on our links page once I get around to fixing them this week...meanwhile, stop in to his site here, and tell him Kevin sent ya.

Okay kids. I'll be back later this week, since GiMpy's working and I'm alone and it's cold and there are wolves after me....

Things to see other than the 'Harry Potter' movie.
(November, 2001)

You kids like plays? How about free plays? How about plays created by friends of yours? How about plays you can see in other states? How about you just take a look at what your peers are doing? They've got some stuff for you. Go now. Yeah. Now. It's right down the street there. That's right...keep goin'...it's right there. it's right around the corner. Right there... yeah, go in... No--right there. Go on in...
