*First Time Visitors, Click HERE the Power of Equality (4/25/01) "A little
boy came along, name of Lous Armstrong;
07:23pm, EST. So you're on a computer, eh? Staring a the flashing computer screen (it is flashing, just too fast for your eyes to see, like 'the flash') sitting in your apartmenthouseoffice or basementlibraryadobehut, reading the words that I am typing this moment a few hours (days? weeks? months?) later, and at your leisure. How cool is that? So what's new and exciting? Have we talked lately? Anything new with your life? Are you coming over tonight to watch "Ed" or "West Wing"? No? Why not? Oh really? That's great. What are your plans for the week(end)? Will we get to see each other then? Cool. I hope so, I really do. So if anyone is interested in getting together for a little gathering, I'm of the thinking that Sunday would be a good day to get together, bask in the sun's regenerative powers (or not, if, for good reason you dislike the sun), and throw things at each other. I have a strong desire to throw things since I purchased my new base-ball glove last week, and I wish to satiate said desire by going to Central Park on Sunday and tossing a baseball (but open to frisbee's, footballs, children, smallish rocks, and other items being thrown as well) around with any interested parties. Perhaps you would like to bring yourself a lil' lunchable to snack on, or mayhaps we can procure a pick-a-nick basket from a local Park Ranger. Either way, keep your eyes peeled on the messageboard for more info, but I say: "We are Alive! We must absorb the sun! We must frolic and throw balls about! We Must! We Must!" So, figure on Central Park(ish), Sunday, say....12(ish) or 1(ish) in the afternoon (sleep or hangover or mornin' lovin' notwithstanding). Keep your ears to the grindstone for specifics, bub. Other news? Well, as many of you noticed, the Messageboard was down for a few days (they were moving the site to a new server), but they're back in the hizouse. Jedi Frants is risen from the dead (Buffalo, NY) to provide us with a short review of the newest B-Way smash, The Producers:
Ha ha. Thank you for that Frants. Now, if you want a fully-realized review, Frantley has it for you: the Critically Acclaimed BRING IT ON has come to DVD! Check out his full on review for all of you dirty birdies out there salivating to see Ms. Dunst shake that thang. What more could I possibly have for you? Plenty, you greedy greedy people, plenty. I'm in the middle of A.H.W.O.S.G. (A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius) by Dave Eggers--I know a bunch of you have already picked it up. Good stuff to be found inside it, and if you crave for more--McSweeney's, the quarterly publication that he's involved with has an extensive website, filled with plenty of hour-killing reading to be found within. It's worth a read if you're of the literate-type. And speaking of literate, most of you know that I love a certain short-bald-popmusicobsessed-british author by the name of Nick Hornby....Well, he's got a new book (much to the surprise of Punk Rock and myself) that's coming out entitled HOW TO BE GOOD. It comes out in the UK on May 31st--but has no US release date yet. Punk Rock saw some jerkie reading an advance copy of the book (he couldn't possibly have been as dedicated-hardcore-fans as Punkie & Myself)---which means that with a little creative work---it can be obtained. So, if anyone out there in Neverneverland would like to show their appreciation by obtaining said ADVANCE COPY and giving it as a gift to myself, I'll love you long time. LONG TIME. Speaking of long time, it has been a long time since I've seen my favorite band, Pilfers, in concert (they have been traipsing around Europa). In order to make up for their lost time, they've put up a demo version of a new song entitled "Chain Reaction". Interested? You should be, if you're of any value to society. Harumph. Well, I've just reached the "almost 8:00 and time for 'Ed' barrier", so it's time for me to bid adieu. I love you swim through

Last night after returning, GiMp and I watched the ol' "Deluxe Edition" of High Fidelity, which featured a number of deleted scenest--if you've read the book, then you'll know most of the scenes, and be happy to see them. Twas' nice. Then, Gimp, Diesel, Duck, & Myself caught a late showing of "Memento" (It has a supurb website, but wait until you see the movie before you go to it!) the new movie featuring Guy Pearce and one of the most original scripts I've ever seen in my life (it actually won the Screenwriting award @ Sundance). If you get the opportunity, you must go see this movie, as it's proof-positive that new possibilities are always being discovered with Art, and art forms. It'll blow your mind, in the best of ways. Keep your eyes peeled this week for a review of the bestselling DVD "Bring It On" by Long-Lost Jedi Frants, and some big news about Jedi aDAm...but until then, why don't you go outside and enjoy the niiiiiiiiiiice day. Pace.Kluv Lets Go Nets Go (4/18/01) Damn NBC and their pre-empting of "Ed". Now granted, they pre-empted it with "West Wing", but still...all for another episode of "The Weakest Link"? Good-bye. So, you lucked out and I put a few goodies up for ya. First, I finally re-designed the "The Rock" aka the Music section. Feel free to send me any links for bands or music sites that you enjoy perusing, and I'll put them up. Also, Jedi LaLa has her bio up and running & Jedi Bunk hits us again with another PC game review on "No One Lives Forever". Spent last night at the New Jersey Nets / Chicago Bulls game. Wow. I have never, ever been around such talent before. Those masters of the court should all be *ALL STARS* if you ask me, and I don't know HOW they are considered amongst the worst teams in Basketball! *And in case
you didn't know, that last part should all be read with sarcasm.
The truly redeeming parts of the trip were the free posters and photos
of "Power
n' Motion" (the NJ Nets Cheerleaders),
the Chinese Acrobat who flicked 5 bowls onto her head with her foot at
halftime--all while riding a 15 food unicycle, and the interview that
the Star Ledger held with Duck
about being a Nets
fan. Twas' a shame we got hosed out of the free hats, t-shirts, and other
goodies. The Man is always trying to keep section 117 down, Yo. A flurry of the activity on the messageboard these days is nice to see. A big welcome to Ms. Grad Skool, hopefully her experience will help us contain the Deeb. And if you haven't been there lately, you've missed out on the lively discussions about Chabon's Pulitzer win (Hells Yeah!) and Sorkin's Shroom Bust (Ooh No!). The Haiku was a tie this week, with both Ben-No & Ms. pulling down 5 votes each. Krrrrazy. Tis' all, Tis' all, Tis' all. Kidco Kluv |
