*First Time Visitors, Click HERE Lets Go Nets Go (4/18/01) Damn NBC and their pre-empting of "Ed". Now granted, they pre-empted it with "West Wing", but still...all for another episode of "The Weakest Link"? Good-bye. So, you lucked out and I put a few goodies up for ya. First, I finally re-designed the "The Rock" aka the Music section. Feel free to send me any links for bands or music sites that you enjoy perusing, and I'll put them up. Also, Jedi LaLa has her bio up and running & Jedi Bunk hits us again with another PC game review on "No One Lives Forever". Spent last night at the New Jersey Nets / Chicago Bulls game. Wow. I have never, ever been around such talent before. Those masters of the court should all be *ALL STARS* if you ask me, and I don't know HOW they are considered amongst the worst teams in Basketball! *And in case
you didn't know, that last part should all be read with sarcasm.
The truly redeeming parts of the trip were the free posters and photos
of "Power
n' Motion" (the NJ Nets Cheerleaders),
the Chinese Acrobat who flicked 5 bowls onto her head with her foot at
halftime--all while riding a 15 food unicycle, and the interview that
the Star Ledger held with Duck
about being a Nets
fan. Twas' a shame we got hosed out of the free hats, t-shirts, and other
goodies. The Man is always trying to keep section 117 down, Yo. A flurry of the activity on the messageboard these days is nice to see. A big welcome to Ms. Grad Skool, hopefully her experience will help us contain the Deeb. And if you haven't been there lately, you've missed out on the lively discussions about Chabon's Pulitzer win (Hells Yeah!) and Sorkin's Shroom Bust (Ooh No!). The Haiku was a tie this week, with both Ben-No & Ms. pulling down 5 votes each. Krrrrazy. Tis' all, Tis' all, Tis' all. Kidco KluvSunburned and Soda-free (4/16/01) That's right, Jedi Duck here once again waxing poetic with a bit larger readership. (For those of you newbies, Jedi Kluv sometimes gets hit with a devestating bout of malaise and needs me to take over the update duties. I oblige without reservation.) As the title would suggest, I truly am sunburned after a hearty round on the links with Senater Seester and Jedi Twicemarried on Saturday. I shot a 91. 33 over par. Bring it, Tiger. Also as the title would suggest, I am indeed soda-free. I had my one-week milestone today, got a little copper medallion from my sponsor Erin F. Have been attending S.A. meetings all week, and as soon as I can get all of the other members to quit smoking, I think I'm really going to have a good time. (Again, for the newbies: my teeth just about walk out of my head thanks to all the soda I drink. Imagine the scene: A dank, if not somewhat dreary, mouth. We pull in tight to see Bicuspid, calmly reading. Biscuspid: Sigh. Enter Pepsi. Pepsi: Excuse me, is this seat taken? Bicuspid: Oh, no, you can have my seat, I was just leaving. Pepsi: Thanks! Exeunt Bicuspid. Fin. That's about how it goes. So anywho, I decided to quit drinking soda last week, and we'll see how it goes. As for the actual update of the page, there ain't much going on. Easter's over, spring is (finally) here (I think!) and Jeff Hardy is still the Intercontinental Champ (As of 7:45 EST. Check back later, this card is subject to change.) Kluv added some new things here to the page, such as a new Ed Alert, some new events on the Jedi Event board, as well as some new info on the Bios page ("Also, check out the new mystery link courtesy of Seester"--Kluv). So, check those out, drink some water, and thank your lucky stars for strong, healthy teef. I'm out. P.S. To quote Adam Duritz, "I got a girlfriend, man.....and she's so cool....." I do, and she is.Axel Foley (4/15/01) Happy Easter to all, and a hearty hand clasp to the Red Sox for defeating the Yanks today--twas' a great Easter present. Had an excellent turkey dinner (compliments of Iron Chef Gimp) this afternoon with O'Neill and the visiting Brookie. I updated the Jedi Bios pages--it is now broken into two sections, the Jedi of Astoria & the non-Queens Ithaca Mafia Membas, since the OG page was getting too small. I got the new short story collection that Nick Hornby edited, and I am thoroughly excited to read it. Tragically, I found out that Hornby is not only going to be speaking at this year's New Yorker Arts and Literary Festival, but he is also going to be DJ-ing the "High Fidelity Dance Party" one evening as well. Of course, both events are sold out--so if anyone can score some tickets to either event, I know at least 10 other people (besides myself) who would give many pints of blood for one... Anyhoo, can't let GiMp get too bored , otherwise she'll throw a wicked pissah. Night Night. KluvDaaaaryyyl...Daaaaryyyl... (4/14/01) Hope the weekend is finding you folks well. Had some great weather the last few days, and hopefully they'll be an indication of things to come--so that I can start playin' some volleyball ASAP. Thought I'd do a little update before Gimp and I color our easter eggs for the ol' 'oliday tomorrow... Finally put the gallery up from last week's birthday celebration for J2S. Check it out at the picture pages. Drank some Schlitz last night with Sperm, Gimp, Diesel, & Mr. Meier after the thrilling Red Sox win. Unfortunately, the Sox lost today to the Suckiest team around, the Yankees. Not a whole lot else new, asides from Duck recently landing the job as the lead singer for a band named Mrs. Grundy. Their music sounds pretty damn good, their sense of humor seems to match our man Duck, and I'll keep y'all updated on when they'll be playing. Keep and eye on the Mafia Events section to be sure. Give him a little congratulations on the messageboard. Time to make the Golden Egg for Jesus. "Pedro Likes to Throw K's" -luv |
